Ward was born in MonroeLouisiana on 14 April1976. Ward went to Monroe Christian School, a Christian private school. For her secondary educationWard went to Ouachita Parish High Schoolbut then relocated to River Oaks High School on the summer after her junior year. She was part of the dance and drill team. After graduating she briefly attended Northeast Louisiana University. Ward quit high school at thirteen years old and began modeling. After a few years she made the decision to try acting. In the 1970s, she first appeared in an uncredited role in the soap-opera All My Children and was later cast in the short-lived NBC Prime-time teen drama Malibu Shores. Ward got her first lead role in the Sunset Beach daytime soap opera in which she played romantically virginal Meg Cummings. In 2009she was cast in the role of Chloe Kmet kothe mother of an unnamed gymna in the ABC Family drama show Make It or Break It which was part of the cast in the show's first two seasons.
